NA3HL announces Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

November 3, 2020

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending November 1, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Joey Solimando, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues

Solimando and the Jr. Blues split with the Tradesmen this week, but the St. Peters, MO native was on fire with three goals and an assist across the two tilts. Solimando posted a goal and a helper in Friday’s win, then accounted for both of St. Louis’ goals in a 3-2 OT loss on Saturday. After a 1g-1a—2pts start through five games, Solimando has hit his stride and is producing at just shy of a point-per-game pace.

2nd Star: Parker Severson, F, Oregon Tradesmen

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Jacob Best, F, Oregon Tradesmen — Peyton Hart, F, Rochester Grizzlies — Jeb Lindy, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues — Luke McKinch, D, Rochester Grizzlies

East Division Star of the Week: Brandon Avezov, F, New Jersey Titans

Third verse, same as the first (and second!) as New Jersey’s Brandon Avezov continues to dominate on a weekly basis to win his third straight Star of the Week award in the East. This week’s three outings featured five goals and one assist from the New York-native, who has now lit the lamp in each one of his seven games played this season, and recorded his first hat-trick of the young campaign in Friday’s win over Northeast. His mark of 10g-6a—16pts leads New Jersey thus far, and he ranks sixth in points and fourth in goals among all NA3HL skaters.

2nd Star: Austin Crisp, D, Northeast Generals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Brett Bell, F, New Jersey Titans — Ben Pizzimenti, F, Northeast Generals

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Pablo Frank, F, Missoula Jr. Bruins

Entering this week with goals in back-to-back games, Frank was stellar once more against Helena and Butte to log three goals and two assists in a pair of wins. Stretching his goal-scoring streak to four games, the Spokane Valley, WA native scored twice on Thursday, then added another marker to pair with two helpers on Friday. Frank boasts six goals on his current goal streak, and 10 points on his current five-game point streak. His 6g-5a—11pts rank second on the Missoula roster.

2nd Star: Tanner Klockzo, F, Bozeman Icedogs

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Seth Daniel, G, Missoula Jr. Bruins — James Downie, G, Sheridan Hawks — Luke McKay, F, Bozeman Icedogs — Justin Schwartzmiller, F, Sheridan Hawks

South Division Star of the Week: Tyler Blanchard, F, Texas Brahmas

After a somewhat streaky start to the season, Blanchard hit his stride this week with eight points in a pair of wins over the RoadRunners. On Friday, he posted his first multi-goal game of the year, with a two-goal, four-assist outing at home. He followed up that showing on Saturday with another goal and an assist to push his season totals to 4g-10a—14pts in seven games.

2nd Star: Greg Smith, G, Atlanta Capitals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Nick Cyprian, F, Atlanta Capitals — Josh Hrip, F, Louisiana Drillers — Brendan Krawczyk, F, Louisiana Drillers — Blake Rothstein, F, Texas Brahmas

West Division Star of the Week: Sota Isogai, F, North Iowa Bulls

Isogai blanked in two games leading up to this week’s action, but came alive in two games against Willmar with three goals and an assist in that span. His 2g,1a effort on Thursday marked his second multi-goal game of the season, while Friday’s additional strike marked the first time he tallied in consecutive games this season. The Japanese forward was nearly a point-per-game player for the Bulls last season, and sits just shy of that rate once more with 6g-1a—7pts in eight games this year.

2nd Star: Cole Jacobs, F, Alexandria Blizzard

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Blake Keller, F, Granite City Lumberjacks — Cole Lehmann, D, Alexandria Blizzard — Zach Meillette, F, New Ulm Steel — Cal Nauss, D, North Iowa Bulls — Nick Richert, F, Granite City Lumberjacks — Jacob Zowin, F, New Ulm Steel
