Brahmas and Tradesmen win on Thursday
TX Brahmas 9 @ Mid Cities 1 – The Brahmas fired 73 shots on goal and got two goals apiece from Leevi Selanne and Tyler Blanchard in a 9-1 win over Mid Cities on Thursday. The Brahmas jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st period, which included two goals from Selanne and another from Blanchard. The lead swelled to 8-1 as the Brahmas scored five more times in the 2nd period, which included another goal from Blanchard and others from Padraig McEnery, Ian Erdman, RJ Muckensturm, and Gabe Coppo. Todd Thompson had the lone goal for the Jr. Stars. In the 3rd period, Benjamin Mondou added a shorthanded goal to make it a 9-1 final. Brahmas goalie Levi Gho made 20 saves in the win, while Nahuel Veyan made 36 saves in the loss.
Oregon 5 @ Milwaukee 3 – Gunnar Schiffman and Jason Tenezaca each scored twice to lead the Tradesmen to a 5-3 win in Milwaukee on Thursday. Oregon jumped out to a 2-0 lead, which included a 1st period goal from Jack Sumner and a 2nd period tally from Schiffman, his first of the game. The Power came right back later in the 2nd period to tie the game at 2-2 with goals from Michael Dalaly and Mason Proskin. Oregon put the game out of reach in the 3rd period as Tenezaca scored both of his goals to make it 4-2. Zach Wilson scored for the Power to briefly make it 4-3, but an empty-net goal from Schiffmann secured the 5-3 win. Hunter Adams made 35 saves in the win, while Cole Shane made 27 saves in the loss.
