St. Louis, Helena bring home wins on Thursday
St. Louis 4 @ Oregon 2 – Joey Boccardi scored twice to lead the Jr. Blues to a 4-2 road win against the Tradesmen on Thursday. The Tradesmen jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Sam VanderHoeven and Payton Stauffacher, but that was countered by the Jr. Blues in the 2nd period with a goal from Mike Deeba and Boccardi’s first of the game. In the 3rd period, the Jr. Blues took the lead on a goal from Riley Howse and then Boccardi added his second of the game later in the 3rd period to push the final to 4-2.
Missoula 2 @ Helena 3 – Isaac Ellingson and Andrew Deskin each had a goal and assist apiece to lead Helena to a 3-2 win on Thursday over the visiting Jr. Bruins. Helena jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to a 1st period goal from Ellingson, a 2nd period goal from Deskin and a goal early in the 3rd period from Andrew MacCallum. The Jr. Bruins tried to mount a comeback later in the 3rd period with goals from Liam Bland and Spencer Warren, but could not find the equalizer in regulation. Anthony Adleman made 15 saves in the win, while Maxim Currie made 35 saves in the loss.
