Alexandria defenseman Lehmann makes NCAA commitment

February 5, 2021

The Alexandria Blizzard of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Cole Lehmann has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College of the MIAC in Moorhead, Minnesota.

Lehmann, 20, is in his third and final season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. The 6’0/185 lbs. native of St. Michael, Minnesota, has 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in 17 games played so far during the 2020-21 season.

Last season, Lehmann had 35 points in 47 games played along with earning a spot on the 2020 NA3HL West Division Top Prospects team. In his three-year NA3HL career, he has recorded 76 points in 118 games played to date.

Lehmann also played in the 2019 NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament for Team East, where he had a goal at the event.

“We are really excited to have Cole.  He is outstanding player and fine young man.  His High School Coaches were teammates of mine in College and I have been following Cole since he was a Sophomore in High School.  I think he is one of the best defensemen in league,” said Cobber head coach Chris Howe.

“We are immensely proud of Cole and his commitment to develop and earn his spot at the next level.  Cole has been the mainstay of our defensive unit over the last three years. Cole shows up every day and competes at a high level and pushes his teammates to be better.  We look forward to watching Cole continue to grow and develop at the next level,” said Blizzard head coach Jeff Crouse.
