Jr. Hat Tricks and Blizzard win on Wednesday
Generals 1 @ Jr. Hat Tricks 4 – Jr. Hat Tricks goalie Nathan Hadley made 35 saves to lead his club to a 4-1 home win over the Generals. Danbury took a 2-0 lead thanks to 1st period goals from Kade Bacon and Brandon Cope. The lead swelled to 4-0 in the 2nd period thanks to two more goals from Nick Cullinan and Nikita Kovallev. The Generals finally broke through early in the 3rd period with their lone goal of the game from Nicklaus Obourn. Generals goalie Espen Reager made 45 saves in the loss.
New Ulm 3 @ Alexandria 6 – The Blizzard stayed hot thanks to their 4th straight win as Colin Tushie scored twice in a 6-3 win on Wednesday. Blizzard stormed out to a 4-2 lead in the 1st period thanks to goals from Tushie, Caleb Strong, Cole Jacobs, and Dallas Duckson. Tushie scored a goal in the 2nd period to make it 5-2 and Alex Heidenreich scored in the 3rd period. Steel goals came from Josh Delange and Jacob Zowin in the 1st period and James Spaargaren in the 3rd period. Blizzard goalie Bailey Rosch made 27 saves in the win, while AJ Cohen made 46 saves in the loss.
