Missoula win part of active Wednesday games in the NA3HL

Mid Cities forward Thomas Srsha had two goals and three assists in a 6-4 win on Wednesday as the Stars have won two of their last three games.

Bozeman 2 @ Missoula 6 – The Jr. Bruins inched closer towards clinching a playoff spot thanks to a 6-2 win over Bozeman. Cayce Balk led the way with a hat-trick for Missoula. Balk and Kieran Christianson scored in the 1st period to make it 2-0. Bozeman got on the board early in the 2nd period thanks to a goal from Tae Evans to make it 2-1. Trevor Prince scored before the period was done to make it 3-1 for Missoula after two periods. Balk added two more goals in the 3rd period and Owen Miley also scored to secure the win for the Jr. Bruins. Colin Cobb had the other Bozeman goal. Maxim Currie made 29 saves in the win, while Brandon Keeney made 15 saves in the loss.

Louisiana 4 @ Mid Cities 6 – Stars forward Thoms Srsha had two goals and three assists to lead his club to a 6-4 win on the visiting Drillers. Mid Cities jumped ahead 2-0 in the 1st period with goals from Srsha and Jacob Rezac. The Drillers would tie the game at 2-2 later in the period on goals from Alex Marschel and Trevor Souza. The Stars scored the only two goals in the 2nd period to take a 4-2 lead as Colton Sebastian and Michael Fatta lit the lamp. In the 3rd period, Sebastian and Srsha would both add their second goals to complete the win. Marschel would end up scoring two more goals for the Drillers to record a hat-trick in the losing effort. Nahuel Veyan made 31 saves in the win, while Jacob King made 30 saves in the loss.

Generals 1 @ Jr. Hat Tricks 4 – The East Division is officially up for grabs as the Jr. Hat Tricks won their sixth straight game thanks to a 4-1 win over the Generals on Wednesday. The Jr. Hat Tricks jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 1st period on a goal from Nikita Kovalev. The lead swelled to 3-0 in the 2nd period as Kovalev scored his second of the game along with a goal from Nick Cullinan. The lead increased to 4-0 in the 3rd period as Cullinan found the back of the net again. Deacon More would add the lone Generals goal later in the 3rd period. Trey Hirschfield made 29 saves in the win, while Espen Reager made 23 saves in the loss.

Granite City 3 @ Alexandria 2 (SO) – Recently committed Lumberjacks forward Hanson O’Leary had a goal in regulation and the shootout-winner as the Lumberjacks stayed hot with a 3-2 win over the Blizzard. The Blizzard never trailed in the game, scoring the opening goal in the 1st period thanks to Sean Kenny’s 8th of the season. O’Leary answered in the 2nd period to make it 1-1, but a goal less than a minute later from Colin Tushie gave the Blizzard the edge back at 2-1. Early in the 3rd period, Shane Peifrel scored to make it 2-2. Carson Simon and O’Leary would score in the shootout to secure the extra point and win for Granite City. Bailey Huber made 24 saves in the win, while Atticus Kelly made 35 saves in the shootout loss.

Titans 4 @ Sharks 3 – Brandon Avezov had a goal and an assist to lead the Titans to a 4-3 win over the Sharks. Avezov scored the game’s first goal in the 1st period. The Sharks would gain a 2-1 lead later in the period with goals from Matthew Anastasio and Enrico Bozac. The Titans scored two straight goals in the 2nd period to take a 3-2 lead as Zachary Cafaro and Justin Cohn each netted their first goals of the season. Nic Gustafson answered for the Sharks to tie the game at 3-3, but right before the period ended, Brett Bell netted the game-winner for the Titans. Grant Goodson made 26 saves in the win, while Artem Lantukh made 35 saves in the loss.
