Drillers keep playoff hopes alive with 5-1 win

Louisiana 5 @ Mid Cities 1 – The Drillers kept their slim playoff hopes alive as the defeated the Mid Cities Jr. Stars, 5-1 on Thursday. Jack Lambert had two goals in the win.

The Drillers opened up a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with a power play goal from Mark Phillips and an even strength goal from Lambert.

The lead swelled to 5-0 in the 2nd as Lambert added his second of the game, along with goals from Brandon Morgan and Andrew Rothmeier.

Mid Cities snapped the shutout bid of Chris Branch thanks to a goal from Elias Ayon, which was his first of the season.

Branch ended up with 22 saves in the win, while Nahuel Veyan made 45 saves in the loss.
