NA3HL Weekend Preview
The regular season continues to wind down in the NA3HL this weekend as the second to last weekend features 22 games.
16 teams have already punched their tickets to the Fraser Cup Playoffs, with spots yet to be clinched this weekend in the Frontier and the South Divisions.
It was another good week for advancement for NA3HL players as more NCAA commitments were made. Over 30 NA3HL players have made NCAA commitments to date.
The Central Division is all set with just a few games remaining as Rochester will take on Oregon and St. Louis will face Peoria in the Playoffs. The final spot will be up for grabs in the East between the Bobcats and Sharks. In the Frontier, the Gillette Wild and Missoula Jr. Blues need just a single point or Helena loss to clinch the final two spots. In the South, we will know the final playoff team this weekend as Atlanta and Louisiana battle in three games. In the West, all that remains is a battle for the division title as Granite City and North Iowa will face one another.
The five divisional playoff champions along with one wild card team will advance to the NA3HL Fraser Cup Championship Tournament, where they will play a two- game round-robin format followed by a semi-final and a championship game at the St. Peters Rec Plex in St. Peters, Missouri from April 15-19. The five divisional playoff winners will be seeded 1-5 based on their regular season point totals. The wild card team that will be seeded 6th will be the team with the highest winning percentage to lose in the division finals. A round-robin format with two pools will be implemented, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to the Semi-Finals, where they will then cross over to play the other top two teams from the other pool. The winners of the Semi-Finals will advance to the Fraser Cup Championship Game.
