Rochester defenseman Arneson signs NAHL tender

April 30, 2021

The Rochester Grizzlies of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Blake Arneson has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Austin Bruins in the NAHL’s Central Division.

Arneson, 18, is no stranger to the NAHL having played 39 games between the Austin Bruins, Wichita Falls Warriors, Northeast Generals, and Bismarck Bobcats over the past few seasons.

The Red Wing, MN, native has two points in those 38 games and made his Austin Bruins debut back on March 22nd.

During the 2020-21 regular season with the Grizzlies, Arneson had 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) in 11 games played. He also put up five points in nine Fraser Cup Playoff games, helping the Grizzlies reach the title game where they lost to the North Iowa Bulls.

He was named to the 2021 Fraser Cup All-Tournament Team for his efforts.

Prior to playing in the NA3HL and NAHL, Arneson played two seasons in the NAPHL.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which includes one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
