Sunday Wrap-Up: Brahmas, Grizzlies, Generals stay unbeaten

Rochester forward Austin Meers had a goal in a 3-0 win on Sunday to keep the Grizzlies undefeated on the season.

TX Brahmas 6 @ Oklahoma City 5 (OT) – The Brahmas moved their season record to a perfect 8-0 thanks to a 6-5 overtime win on Sunday, completing a three-game sweep of the Ice Hawks. Oklahoma City led 3-0 after the 1st period with two goals from Noah Henslee and another from Robby Rabroker. The Brahmas would then score all five goals in regulation in the 2nd period to take a lead as Michael Imala scored twice and Michael Kramer, Alec Secord, and Mason Mara added goals. Later in the game, the Ice Hawks tied things up at 5-5 with goals from Patrick Wyers and Jakob Holley. In the overtime, Erik Vrkoc played the hero and scored his 11th goal of the season to keep the Brahmas perfect. Dolan Gilbert made 28 saves in the win, while Garrett Johnson made 31 saves in the loss.

Rochester 3 @ Milwaukee 0 – Behind a 30-save shutout from goalie Kaleb Bents, the Rochester Grizzlies stayed perfect on the season, moving their record to 11-0 thanks to a 3-0 win on Sunday in Milwaukee. The Grizzlies scored once in each period as Kyle Bauer scored :38 seconds into the 1st period, Jameson Folden added a 2nd period goal, and Austin Meers scored in the 3rd period. Milwaukee goaltender Austin Bartell made 35 saves in the loss.

New Jersey 1 @ Northeast 3 – The Generals moved into 1st place in the East and moved their season record to a perfect 9-0 as they won their third game of the weekend by defeating the visiting Titans, 3-1 on Sunday. D’Mar McCoy made 26 saves in the win for the Generals. The Titans opened the scoring in the 1st period as Jake Spangler scored his 3rd goal of the season. The Generals fought back in the 2nd period to take a 2-1 lead behind goals from Nolan Murphy and Payton Felix. In the 3rd period, Felix would add his second goal of the game to secure the 3-1 win and keep the Generals perfect season alive. Titans goalie Donavan Alfama made 47 saves in the loss.

Bay State 1 @ Danbury 3 – The Jr. Hat Tricks got 29 saves from goalie Lorenzo Rossi in a 3-1 win over the Bobcats on Sunday. Danbury took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period thanks to the 5th goal of the season from Nikita Kovalev. The Jr. Hat Tricks widened their lead in the 2nd period to 3-0 thanks to goals from Daniel Khatib and Nick Rogers. Bay State would get on the board later in the period thanks to their lone goal from Will Comrie. Braeden Bovey made 22 saves in the losing effort.
