Rhinos and Americans pick up wins on Thursday
Americans forward Henry Fusco had two assists in a 6-4 win on Thursday.
Oklahoma City 3 @ El Paso 5 – The Rhinos got goals from five different players as they extended their winning streak to four straight games thanks to a 5-3 win in their home opener over the Ice Hawks. El Paso opened up a 3-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Riley Hunt-Bahn, Samuel Levin, and Wesley Rees. Oklahoma City made it a 3-1 game late in the period as Noah Henslee scored. The Rhinos put the game away in the 2nd period with two more goals to make it 5-1 as Reno Parker and Jaxon Penner both scored. Robby Rabroker and Jakob Holley scored 3rd period goals for the Ice Hawks to make it a 5-3 final. Camden Pendleton made 39 saves in the win, while Nathan Hadley and Garrett Johnson combined for the loss.
Butte 4 @ Great Falls 6 – The Americans scored three goals in just over a two-minute span in the 3rd period to erase a 4-3 deficit and beat the Butte Cobras, 6-4. Daniel Crutcher and Tae Evans each had two goals in the win. The two clubs were tied at 3-3 after two periods. Nick Bradshaw scored twice and Fabian Vik scored for the Cobras, while Thomas Dalsin, Thomas Gazich and Evans scored for the Americans. In the 3rd period, the Cobras took a 4-3 lead when Cade Wessman scored. The Americans then rattled off three goals in just over two minutes as Evans added another and Crutcher scored twice. Will Simpson made 20 saves in the win, while Caleb Cross made 62 saves in the loss.
