Alexandria and Long Beach win on Wednesday
Alexandria 5 @ New Ulm 0 – Blizzard goalie Andrew Tuttle had to make just 10 saves for his first career junior shutout as Alexandria picked up a 5-0 road win in New Ulm on Wednesday. It was all Blizzard from the start as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Brady Goff and Cole Klingbeil. In the 2nd period, the Blizzard put the game away with three more goals included another from Klingbeil and others from Zachary DeMarce and Blaze Braswell. Steel goaltenders Alex Benson (11 saves) and Nolan Lacosse (25 saves) both played in the loss.
New Jersey 3 @ Long Beach 6 – Sharks defenseman Mikita Miadzvedzeu had two goals and an assist to lead his team to a 6-3 win over the visiting Titans. The Sharks scored two goals in each period, which included 1st period goals from Miadzvedzeu and Jake Weikel, 2nd period goals from Miadzvedzeu and Christopher Barnard, and 3rd period goals from Tyler Zembrzycki and Max Rotsaert. The Titans scorers included Teito Ishigaki and Ryan Kenna, who scored twice. Long Beach goalie Justin Bender made 16 saves in the win, while Colin Freitas made 46 saves in the loss.
