NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week

December 14, 2021

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending December 12, 2021. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches. 

 

Central Division Star of the Week: Justin Hubble, Defense, Peoria Mustangs

Peoria Defenseman, Justin Hubble, notched three points over the weekend. On Saturday, the Brownsville, IL native scored two goals from the blueline and added an assist helping Peoria to a 8-4 win over St. Louis. In the two games he appeared in, Hubble added a +6 rating on the ice. Hubble has appeared in 24 games this season totalling 13 points (4G, 9A). 

2nd Star: Jake Laurila, D, Rochester Grizzlies

East Division Star of the Week: Nolan Zotter, Forward, Northeast Generals

Northeast Generals Forward, Nolan Zotter, showed off his skill recording a hat-trick in his first NA3HL career game. Zotter, 18, a West Grove, PA native, scored half of the goals for the Generals in a 6-0 shutout over the New Jersey Titans on Sunday. 

2nd Star: Nolan Murphy, F, Northeast Generals 

 

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Jake Turek, Goalie, Gillette Wild

Gillette Wild netminder, Jake Turek, earned two wins over the weekend against the Great Falls Americans. On Friday, the North Branch, MI native, earned an OT win stopping 54 of the 55 shots he faced, for a 2-1 win. Turek was called again between the pipes on Saturday where he was perfect, stopping all 29 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the year in a 5-0 final. Turek is 11-2-0-1 this year with a combined 1.93 GAA and a .942 SV%.

2nd Star: Nick Bradshaw, F, Butte Cobras

South Division Star of the Week: No Games

 

West Division Star of the Week: Tal Halliday, Defense, Granite City Lumberjacks

Lumberjacks Defenseman, Tal Halliday, had himself a weekend recording 7 points in two games. In a Friday showdown against the Minnesota Loons, Halliday accounted for two assists in a 12-1 win for Granite City. In game two of the weekend against the Loons, Halliday netted 3 goals and handed out two assists for a total of 5 points in a 14-1 win for the Lumberjacks. The Roseau, MN native has appeared in 24 games this season with 7 goals and 20 assists. Halliday is sixth in the NA3HL in scoring amongst all defenseman with 27 points.
