Sea Captains, Drillers win on Monday
Troy Harwell scored twice for the Sea Captains in a 6-3 win over the Sharks on Monday.
Long Beach 3 @ Norwich 6 – Troy Harwell scored twice for the Sea Captains in a 6-3 win over the Sharks. After scoreless 1st period, the Sharks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd period with goals from Max Rotsaert and Tyler Zembrzycki. After that, it was almost all Sea Captains as Harwell scored twice to even the game heading into the 3rd period, where Norwich would score four more goals from Evan Tower, Ethan Ranger, Jameson Bain, and Brain Essing. Devin Carney had the other Sharks goal. Sea Captains goalie Brendan Pellerito made 31 saves in the win, while Justin Bender made 23 saves in the loss.
Louisiana 4 @ Oklahoma City 2 – Drillers goalie Pavel Grishin made 53 saves to help the Drillers salvage one win in a three-game series against the Ice Hawks thanks to a 4-2 win on Monday. Jack Lambert scored twice for the Drillers, which included the game’s first goal. The Ice Hawks took a 2-1 lead into the 1st intermission with goals from Jakob Holley and Vincent Anderson. Louisiana then pulled away in the 2nd and 3rd periods with goals from Anderson O’Connor, Mark Kurliandchyk, and Lambert. Oklahoma City goalie Nathan Hadley made 17 saves in the loss.
