NA3HL announces Bauer Hockey Stars of the Week
The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending January 16, 2022. The Divisional Stars of the Week is an award given each week of the regular season to the top performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.
Central Division Star of the Week: Adam Johnson, Forward, Rochester Grizzlies
Grizzlies forward Adam Johnson totalled five points in the two games he appeared in over the weekend. Johnson, a native of Mahtomedi, MN added two points with a goal and an assist in the Grizzlies 3-2 loss on Friday to the Oregeon Tradesmen. The following night, the Grizzlies bounced back with a 6-2 win over Oregon as Johnson added three assists in the victory. This season Johnson has played in 19 games and has recorded 22 points (8G, 14A).

East Division Star of the Week: Matthew Nuzzolilo, Forward, Northeast Generals
For the second consecutive week, Northeast Generals forward Matthew Nuzzolilo has received the East Division Star of the Week with his two game performance compiling 5 points. In a 9-1 takedown of the Norwhich Sea Captains, Nuzzolilo netted two goals and handed out an assist. On the following night, the Shrewsbury, MA native added two assists in the Generals 5-1 win over the Bay State Bobcats. Matthew leads the Generals in points with 37 this season in 26 games.

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Edvin Falkenstrom, Goalie, Yellowstone Quake
Yellowstone Quake goaltender Edvin Falkenstrom received this week's Frontier Division Star of the week for his performance between the pipes. In a weekend series with the Butte Cobras, Falkenstrom went 1-1 in the net. In those two games, the Valbo, Sweden native stopped 131 of the 137 shots he faced. This season, Falkenstrom has played in 6 games with a 3-3 record, a 3.00 GAA and a.935 SV%.

South Division Star of the Week: Caden Butler, Forward, El Paso Rhinos
El Paso Rhinos forward Caden Butler put up huge numbers in the two games he appeared in with a weekend sweep over the Austin Ice Bats. In Saturday’s 16-0 final, Butler found the back of the net once and added 7 assists. On the following night, the Phoenix, AZ native netted a hat-trick in the Rhinos 12-1 win. Butler is ranked 20th in the NA3HL’s Top Scorers with 47 points (19G, 28A) in the 24 games he’s played in.

West Division Star of the Week: Zak Kennett, Forward, Granite City Lumberjacks
Granite City Lumberjacks forward Zak Kennett totalled 7 points in each of the three games he played in over the weekend. In the Lumberjacks 9-2 win over the Alexandria Blizzard on Friday, Kennett added a goal and two assists. On the following night, the Red Lake Falls, MN native found the back of the net twice in the Lumberjacks 5-2 win for a sweep over Alexandria. In the third game of three for the Lumberjacks, Kennett added a goal and an assist in a Sunday takedown over the Willmar WarHawks 5-1.
