Willmar forward Wyers makes NCAA commitment

April 4, 2022

The Willmar WarHawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Patrick Wyers has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.

Wyers, 20, just finished his third and final season of junior hockey. The 5'9/170 lbs. native of Minnetonka, MN, had 17 points (12 goals, 5 assists) in 21 games this season for the WarHawks.

Wyers began the season with the Oklahoma City Ice Hawks, recording 27 points in 14 games.

"Patrick was a tremendous addition to our team this season. He's a guy who can really skate, has great skills, and knows how to put the puck in the net. I think he will have a great college career for the Gusties,” stated WarHawks Head Coach Kirk Olimb.

Prior to joining the WarHawks this year, Wyers spent time in both the NAHL and NA3HL over the past three seasons.

He began his junior career in 2019-20 in the NAHL with the Austin Bruins and Aberdeen Wings and would later play in the NAPHL that season for the Omaha AAA 18 team.

During the 2020-21 season, Wyers played in the NA3HL for the North Iowa Bulls and Oklahoma City Blazers.

The WarHawks congratulate Patrick on his college commitment and wish him all the best as his hockey career continues to move forward.
