Saturday Scores: Port Huron increases lead in North

Kalamazoo 1 @ Port Huron 6 – Kody Polin, Ian Miller and Brett D’Andrea all had multi-point games as the Fighting Falcons stayed in 1st place with a 6-1 win in a penalty-filled contest. Max Milosek stopped all 18 shots he faced as the Falcons dominated the matchup of the top two teams in the North American Hockey League North Division standings.  Polin scored two goals for the Falcons and added an assist, while D’Andrea and Miller each had a goal and two assists. Easton Power had a goal and an assist, while Logan Lemirande had a goal. Bret Lewandowski, Maxwell Reavis, Rick DeRosa and Alex Archibald each had an assist for the Falcons.  Matt Cessna scored the lone Kalamazoo goal with 28 seconds remaining in the game. The Falcons out-shot Kalamazoo 35-20. Boxscore

Jamestown 1 @ Michigan 5 –The Warriors snapped a nine-game winless skid thanks to three points from Chris Eckler, two goals from Zak Thompson and 46 saves from Brach Tiller. Boxscore

Alexandria 4 @ Coulee Region 0 – The Blizzard swept the weekend series from the Chill thanks to 35 saves and a shutout for NHL Central Scouting watch list goaltender Jameson Shortreed.  Four different players scored for the Blizzard.  Boxscore

Janesville 5 @ Springfield 4 (SO) – Jets goaltender Tony Kujava stopped all seven Springfield shooters in the shootout, spoiling Kyle Cook’s two goal night for Springfield , as Janesville avenged Friday’s loss. Boxscore

New Mexico 3 @ Odessa 5 – Two goals in the 3rd period was the difference for the Jacks as they swept New Mexico thanks to two goals and three points from Willie Faust and 26 saves from Connor Hellebuyck.  Boxscore

Amarillo 2 @ Topeka 6 – Topeka earned a weekend split and halted the Bulls win streak at nine games thanks to a hat-trick from Ben Bahe and a three-point night from Ryan White.  It was just the second regulation loss for the Bulls this season.  Boxscore

Corpus Christi 0 @ Wichita Falls 2 – 3HL graduate Matt Leon continues to be one of the best ongoing stories in the NAHL as he stopped all 29 shots that came his way as the Wildcats swept the IceRays.  Bradley Shumway had the game-winner for the Wildcats.  Boxscore

Texas 4 @ Fresno 2 – The Tornado swept the Monsters and moved to two points behind Amarillo for 1st place in the South.  Jordan Lovick scored twice and Marc Biggs, Jordan Greenburg and Justin Greenburg all had multi-point nights in the win for Texas.  Boxscore

Aberdeen 4 @ Bismarck 6 – Behind the strength of three, 3rd period goals the Bobcats became the first NAHL team to win 16 games with a home win over the Wings.  Six different players scored for the Bobcats in the win. Boxscore

Austin 8 @ Austin 0 – The Bruins shutout the Minotauros at home thanks to three point games from John Simonson and Trevor Waldoch.  Tyler Bruggeman and Garrett Patrick combined for a 30-save shutout for the Bruins.  The win kept the Bruins in a tie for 2nd place in the Central. Boxscore

St. Louis 7 @ Chicago 2 – Six different Bandits players had multi-point games including Drew Slaton, who scored twice in the win.  Spencer Viele made 28 saves for the Bandits, who still have a two point lead atop of the Midwest Division over Janesville. Boxscore

Alaska 7 @ Dawson Creek 2 – Ross Pavek had a goal and three assists and Ryan Dau scored twice as the Avalanche went 3 for 9 on the power play in a road win at Dawson Creek.  Bodhi Engum picked up the win in in goal for the Avs making 24 saves. Boxscore

Kenai River 0 @ Fairbanks 5 – Alex Fons made 24 saves and NAPHL graduate Alec Hajdukovich had three points as Fairbanks earned a series split with 1st place Kenai River with the shutout win in front of another sold out crowd in Fairbanks. Boxscore
