Steel alum Chuhel to play for NCAA DIII Bethel

October 26, 2012

The Twin City Steel, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (3HL) would like to congratulate former Steel player from the 2011-12 hockey season forward Alex Chuhel, for claiming a spot with the University of Bethel Royal's of the MIAC (NCAA Division III)

In 22 regular season games with the Steel last year, Chuhel had 10 points (4 goals, 6 assists) along with 89 penalty minutes.  The 21-year-old from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, played his best hockey of the season in the month of December last season where he helped lead the Steel to the 2011 3HL Showcase title.

Chuhel began the season with the Minot Minotauros in the NAHL, where he recorded two points in six games played.

Bethel is coached by Charlie Burggraf.  Burggraf enters his fourth season as head coach of the Bethel men's hockey team in 2012-13. Burggraf previously spent four years as Bethel's women's hockey coach, leading the Royals to the conference playoffs twice, and was named the MIAC Coach of the Year following the 2008-09 season.

Good luck with your academics and college hockey career Alex!
