Air Force calls on Bobcats' Bosner

The Bismarck Bobcats have announced that goaltender David Bosner has committed to the Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey) for next season.

With an 8-5-1 record in 15 appearances this season, Bosner is among the league leaders in goals-against average (1.88) and save percentage (.931).

“We’re extremely happy for David,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool.  “He has worked hard to get this opportunity.”

Bosner, an 18-year-old from Chesterfield, Mo., couldn’t be happier to have his college fate sealed. 

“It’s kind of hard to describe what I’m feeling right now,” said Bosner.  “I just know that reality has hit me and that I’ve finally accomplished a lifelong dream.”

Bosner’s parents as also thrilled with their son’s commitment to Air Force, which is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

“They’re very excited,” Bosner said.  “They came with me to Colorado Springs and were convinced that it was the place for me. They’re passionate and caring people.  However, my parents said it was my decision to make.”

Though Bosner has his plans locked up for next season, he doesn’t intend on looking past the task at hand this year in Bismarck.

“Nothing has changed for me, personally,” he said.  “I still need to prove to Air Force that they made the right decision on me.  I want to be their guy as soon as possible, so I need to continue to play well. 

“We have goals this season to win the Central Division and play at Nationals, and to me that’s more important right now.”

Bosner is the first player from this year's Bobcats team to commit to a Division I program.
