Bosner named GDI Goalie of the Month

February 6, 2009

The North American Hockey League announced today that Bismarck Bobcats goaltender David Bosner has been named the NAHL/GDI Goaltender of the Month for January.

In five appearances, the 19-year-old from Chesterfield, Mo., posted a perfect 5-0 record, including two 33-save shutouts, to compliment a 1.00 goals-against average and a .967 save percentage.

“David has had an outstanding start to the season for us,” said Bobcats head coach Byron Pool. “He’s a very poised young man and it’s showing in his play right now.

“His play exudes a feel of confidence which our whole team builds off.  He allows our players to be comfortable in their play, because they know if a mistake is made, Boz is capable of bailing them out.”

On the season, the Air Force Academy recruit has a 17-6-1 record in 25 appearances to go along with a league-leading .933 save percentage and a 1.87 goals-against average.

“This recognition comes as the result of our team’s defense-first identity,” said Bosner.  “We have 20 guys in the lineup every night who work tirelessly to keep pucks out, and statistics and winning are a result of that commitment.”
