Sunday Wrap-Up: Bulldogs sweep Battle Creek

Pittsburgh 7 @ Michigan 2: Tyler Speis added a pair of goals and an assist to his season total as his Pittsburgh Vengeance topped the Michigan Mountain Cats 7-2. Speis converted early in the first period to give the Vengeance a 1-0 lead and the Pittsburgh squad never looked back. Kade Morrison scored to start the second period putting Michigan within two but Pittsburgh quickly responded with a Tom Diffendal tally to take the three-goal lead into the third period. To start the 3rd the Mountain Cats converted again but Speis added his second on the night to firmly put the Vengeance ahead for good. Boxscore

Chicago 11 @ Battle Creek 0: Chicago goaltender Michael Krch stopped 30 shots and the Bulldogs offense cruised to an 11-0 win over the Battle Creek Revolution. Krch was crucial in the Bulldogs success when the Revolution had the man advantage. On the night, the Bulldogs killed off eight Revolution power plays. Forward Jarret Walt who tallied a hat trick and added an assist led the Bulldogs offense. In a losing effort Revolution goaltender Zach Kooi made 23 saves. Boxscore

Metro 1 @ Flint 7: Conor Durgan increased his early lead on the NA3HL scoring race adding four points in a 7-1 Flint win over the Metro Jets. Durgan is on a torrid pace scoring 11 points in four games including a goal and three assists in tonight’s game. The play of the Junior Generals on the power play was the difference in this game as they scored on four of nine opportunities including two in the second period. Metro's lone goal was scored in an unassisted effort by Alex Holm just 17 seconds into the first period. Boxscore

Cincinnati 4 @ Peoria 2: The Cincinnati Swords finished a power play opportunity in the third period to overcome a tight game and pull out a 4-2 victory over the Peoria Mustangs. Forward Nick Haase, who also had an assist on the night, scored on Peoria goaltender Chance Kremer at the midway mark of the third to put the Swords out front for good. Peoria forward Sam Turner contributed to both Peoria tallies putting a goal and an assist on the score sheet. Boxscore
