Dallas Jr. Stars 1 @ Topeka Capitals 7: There were a lot of firsts Saturday night at Landon Arena for Topeka; The first franchise goal, the first successful penalty kill, the first power play goal, the first win for first-time head coach Anthony Bohn, and the first win in franchise history. the A new NA3HL league record for attendance of 1,502 fans was also set as the Topeka Capitals started their season with a 7-1 victory over the Dallas Jr. Stars. Topeka goaltender Jude Hull stopped 33 Dallas shots on the night, only surrendering a second period goal to Dallas forward Jake Huspen. Georgy Ostapachuk, who scored a goal and two assists, led the Capitals offense. In addition to Ostapachuk, five other Capitals players had a multi point game. Boxscore

Toledo Cherokee 1 @ Michigan Mountain Cats 0: Clay Horvath stopped all 23 Mountain Cats to record his first shutout of the year blanking Michigan 1-0. Both teams had multiple chances on the power play but could not convert on the night. Xavier Sudlow finally solved Kevin O’Shea in the second period to give the Cherokee the lead. O’Shea stopped 31 shots in the defeat. Boxscore

St. Louis Jr. Blues 4 @ Chicago Jr. Bulldogs 3 (SO): Mike Lozano scored two goals and an assist to lead the St. Louis Jr. Blues to a shoot out victory over the hometown Chicago Jr. Bulldogs. Lozano was extremely dangerous when the Jr. Blues had the man advantage scoring two of this three points on the power play. Anthony Palermo paced the Bulldogs with two goals on the night but it wasn’t enough to pull out the victory. Alexander Carlsson scored the clinching goal in the shootout. Boxscore

Cleveland Jr. Lumberjacks 2 @ Pittsburgh Vengeance 3 (SO): The Pittsburgh Vengeance scored two late third period goals to take the game into overtime and it was Nicholas Santiago finishing the game for the Vengeance in the shootout. The Vengeance were down by two goals going into the final frame before Cody Black and Tom Diffendal tallied in the final 10 minutes of the period to take the game to overtime. Cleveland was hot on the power play converting on two of five opportunities; Jared Johnson and Stefan Horgas scored the goals. Boxscore

Peoria Mustangs 7 @ Battle Creek Jr. Revolution 0: The Peoria Mustangs rode a strong first period to take down the Battle Creek Jr. Revolution 7-0. The Mustangs scored four goals in the opening frame with two coming from forward Brennan Anderson. That is all Peoria goaltender Marc Hayton would need stopping all 35 shots he saw on the night. Revolution goalie Tyler Babinksi stopped 44 Peoria shots. Boxscore

Twin City Steel 5 @ Minnesota Flying Aces 3: The Twin City Steel used a huge third period to stun the Minnesota Flying Aces 5-3. The Steel scored four unanswered goals in the final period after being down two to start the third. Jace Childs was vital to the Steel comeback scoring a goal and two assists on the night. AJ Gullickson was involved in all three Flying Aces goals getting an assist on each one. Boxscore

Granite City Lumberjacks 8 @ Alexandria Blizzard 1: Luke Richardson scored a hat trick and Aiden Verbeke added two more as the Granite City Lumberjacks defeated the Alexandria Blizzard 8-1. Jake Maxson scored the only tally for the Alexandria squad. Granite City took advantage of the power play in the first period scoring three straight power play goals to start the game. The Lumberjacks ended up with a 50% success rating on the PP going five for ten. Boxscore

North Iowa Bulls 11 @ Breezy Point North Stars 1: The North Iowa Bulls scored eleven unanswered goals to blow past the Breezy Point North Stars 11-1. Timothy Santopoalo scored four goals and added an assist while Richie Marenis scored a goal and added five assists. The North Stars got out to a strong start getting the first goal of the game scored by Chris Hjorth. North Iowa goaltender Jared Schletty shut down the North Stars for the rest of the night. Wisconsin Whalers 6 @ Metro Jets 4: Jason Hoehn paced the Wisconsin Whalers with three points as the Whalers went on the road and beat the Metro Jets 6-4. Easton Martin, who added two assists for the Whalers, aided Hoehn. The Metro Jets had four players who scored had multi point games including Kevin Shand and Cody Jones, who both scored a goal and an assist. Boxscore
