Saturday Scores: Blizzard end Bulls quest for perfection
North Iowa Bulls 1 @ Alexandria Blizzard 5: The Alexandria Blizzard picked up five goals and the Blizzard beat the previously undefeated North Iowa Bulls 5-1. Tim Santopoalo picked up the first goal of the game in the opening period to give the North Iowa Bulls the early 1-0 lead. Mick Dhein then scored two of his three goals in the game to open the second period to start a streak of five unanswered goals for the Blizzard to end the game. Tanner Elmore was sensational in net stopping 44 shots to pick up the victory over North Iowa. Boxscore
Cincinnati Swords 4 @ St. Louis Jr. Blues 0: Alec Rounds stopped 27 shots and Ryan Sete scored all four of the Swords goals as Cincinnati beat the St. Louis Jr. Blues. Sete now has seven goals on the year for the swords and this was Rounds second shut out of the season. Cooper Cothran took the loss in net for the Jr. Blues only stopping 14 Cincinnati shots. Granite City Lumberjacks 9 @ Breezy Point North Stars 2: Aidan Verbeke scored two goals and added three assists as he powered the Granite City offense to a lopsided victory over the Breezy Point North Stars. Verbeke scored a goal in each period to complete the hat trick and was aided by Drew Otto, who added four assists for the Lumberjacks. Bo Borowski and Blair Seitz picked up the goals for Breezy Point. Granite City goaltender Scott Murray stopped 27 shots in the win for the Lumberjacks. Boxscore
Dallas Jr. Stars 3 @ Topeka Capitals 4 (OT): Hardijis Kupaks scored his second goal of the game in overtime as the Topeka Capitals picked up a win in the extra frame over the Dallas Jr. Stars. Alex MacInnis scored with 13 seconds left with the extra attacker on the ice to tie the game up and bring the game to overtime. Kupaks scored two minutes into the extra frame to give Topeka a big win over their South division rival. Boxscore
Peoria Mustangs 7 @ Battle Creek Jr. Revolution 0: The Peoria Mustangs scored early and often against the Battle Creek Jr. Revolution to win on the road 7-0. Multiple Mustangs had multi point games including Austin Ziakas, who scored the game-winning goal during the 1st period. Battle Creek goaltender Nathan Mortland was busy in his crease seeing 62 shots in net and stopping 55 of them. Boxscore
