RiverWolves honor military on Saturday

For the Wausau RiverWolves Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, November 10 presented by Milwaukee Burger Company, all Veterans and current service members receive a free ticket as the team pays tribute to all those who have served our great country. 

 

This week we had the chance to sit down with Sergeant First Class E7 Patnaude, who just so happens to work the penalty box at RiverWolves home games and learn more about what Veterans Day means to him.

 

Sergeant Patnaude served in the U.S. Army for 27 years and during Operation Desert Storm where he was a member of the 213 SS Battalion Division. The 213 SS Battalion was responsible for supplying the tank division that made their way from Germany. In 1966 he enlisted in the U.S. Army reserves in his hometown of International Falls, Minnesota. He recalled joining the U.S. Army was kind of like a club in those days and was something that everybody wanted to be a part of.

 

The U.S. Army taught Patnaude how to take small things more seriously and to take more responsibility for what you do and don’t do in life. Veterans Day allows him to sleep easy at night knowing that we are safe as the Military is constantly protecting us to live the life we have.

 

Patnaude will be recognized Saturday evening during the Ceremonial first puck drop. Fans are also encouraged to support the Patriot K9s of Wisconsin who will receive 100% of the chuck a puck proceeds at that game They proudly provide training for U.S. Military Veterans and Shelter Dogs working together to combat the effects of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Incident (MSI).
