Generals forward Marcola signs NAHL tender

December 26, 2018
The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Thad Marcola has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Northeast Generals of the NAHL’s East Division.

Marcola, 19, is in his second season playing in the NA3HL for the Generals. The 6’1/185 lbs. native of Almont, Michigan, is currently 3rd in team scoring this season for the Generals with 52 points (19 goals, 33 assists) in 32 games played. He is also serving

During his first junior season in the NA3HL in 2017-18, Marcola had 25 points in 41 games played. Overall in his NA3HL career, he has 77 points in 73 career games.

“Thad is a great kid and works really hard, so he is very deserving of this tender. We have had a lot of recent success with our NA3HL tenders having success with us in the NAHL and then going onto successful NCAA careers, so we are hoping for the same for Thad,” said Generals GM Bryan Erikson. “This is actually the first time we have used our NA3HL tender on a player from the NA3HL Generals team, but we are very confident he is going to be able to make our roster and contribute right away for us.

Marcola becomes the fourth NA3HL player this season who has signed an NAHL tender and the first from the Generals NA3HL team.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
