Mustangs move closer to playoffs with win on Thursday

Peoria 6 @ Wisconsin 2 – Jack Radley and Austin Keil each scored twice to lead the Mustangs to a 6-2 road win in Wisconsin on Thursday night. Peoria led 2-0 after the 1st period thanks to goals from Radley and Bret Bauer. The Whalers cut the lead down to one as Carter Grobstick scored the lone goal of the 2nd period, but then the Mustangs exploded for four goals in the 3rd period, including another from Radley, two from Keil and another from Cody Layne. Luke Hefty had the other goal for the Whalers. Mustangs goalie Jaden Gardner made 35 saves in the win, while Caleb Sauer took the loss for the Whalers with 25 saves. Boxscore
