Bighorns, Nordiques open Division Finals with wins

Frontier Division Finals, Game 1: Great Falls 3 @ Helena 5 (Helena leads series, 1-0) - Darren Donovan posted 2 goals and 2 assists to guide the Bighorns to a crucial 5-3 win over the Americans in a clash of Frontier Division titans. Carver Thompson was stellar between the Helena pipes with 43 saves on the night, as Bighorns goals came from Elliot Plourde, Nicholas Noel and Ian Zaleski alongside Donovan. George Nuutinen, Luke Richesin and Payton McSharry posted the Great Falls goals in front of a shared 38 saves by Viktor Wennberg and Drew Scites. Boxscore
Coastal Division Finals, Game 1: Northeast 1 @ L/A 5 (L/A leads series, 1-0) - Alex Rivet struck twice, Andrew Ghimpeteanu saved 24 of 25 and the Nordiques coasted past the Generals 5-1 to move to within a win of advancing to the Fraser Cup Championship. Joshua Malone, JP Chauvin and Zack Mullen lit the lamp as well for L/A, while Joshua Dimond nabbed Northeast's only goal. John Driscoll finished with 28 saves for the Generals. Boxscore
