Fraser Cup Semi-Final #1: L/A Nordiques 3 vs. St. Louis Jr. Blues 2 (OT) – Nordiques forward Alex Rivet scored two goals, including the overtime-winner, as the Nordiques advanced to the Fraser Cup Championship Game thanks to a 3-2 overtime win on Saturday afternoon. Rivet opened the scoring in the 1st period thanks to a goal on a penalty shot. Rivet was hauled down on the breakaway and subsequently given a penalty shot, which he converted on with a nice backhand shot. The Jr. Blues tied the game at 1-1 midway through the 2nd period as Matthew Monreal converted on a nice cycling play and shot one far side. The Nordiques regained their one goal edge just two minutes later as a shot from the point by JP Chauvin was tipped in front by Sergei Anisimov for a 2-1 lead. The Jr. Blues fought back however, and tied the game at 2-2 before the end of the period as Ivan Galaguzov converted on a one-timer on the back post. After a scoreless 3rd period, it didn’t take the Nordiques long to win the game as Rivet pounded on a loose puck after two saves from Jr. Blues goalie Mikael Foucher and put home the game-winner. Nordiques goalie Andrew Ghimpeteanu made 43 saves in the win, while Foucher made 42 saves in the loss. Boxscore

Fraser Cup Semi-Final #2: Texas Brahmas 3 vs. North Iowa Bulls 1 – The Texas Brahmas got 34 saves from goalie Bryce Runyan as they advanced to the Fraser Cup Championship Game thanks to a 3-1 win over the North Iowa Bulls in the second Semi-Final. After a scoreless 1st period, the Brahmas got on the board early in the 2nd period with a goal from Michael Redmon. Midway through the 3rd period, the Bulls tied the game thanks to the third goal of the event by forward Jarod Blackowiak. However, the Brahmas regained the one-goal lead three minutes later on perhaps the highlight reel goal of the tournament courtesy of forward Benjamin Lindberg, who danced his way through two defenders and sniped a shot for the eventual game-winner. Stuart Pearson would add a late empty-net goal to secure the win. Bulls goalie Dysen Skinner played well in the loss, making 39 saves. Boxscore
