May 21, 2019
The Wausau Riverwolves of NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Colin Brey has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey for Northern Illinois University.
Brey, 19, spent half the season with the RiverWolves in the NA3HL during the 2018-19 season. The 6'1/205 lbs. native of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, played in 20 regular season games and contributed three points.
During his Senior season at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School this season, Brey netted 20 total points.
"I'll definitely miss Wausau. I met a lot of great people and will always be grateful to the Wausau Riverwolves organization for developing my skills and letting me play hockey in front of the awesome fans. I'm excited to play high level college hockey at NIU with their move to the D1 level and the new Midwest College Hockey Conference while pursuing a degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. NIU seemed like the best fit for me and had everything I was looking for to attend college. I would also like to thank their coaching staff for recruiting me," stated Brey.
