Milwaukee forward Bay signs NAHL tender
May 30, 2019
The Milwaukee Power of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Chuck Bay has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL’s East Division.
Bay, 19, just completed his first season of junior hockey in the NA3HL with the Power. The 6’1/174 lbs. native of Duluth, Georgia, was 2nd in team scoring during the 2018-19 season with 73 points (33 goals, 40 assists) in 37 games played. He also had two points in two playoff games.
As a result, Bay was named to the All-NA3HL Rookie 2nd Team for the 2018-19 season.
He was also selected to and played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament, where he recorded three points in three games for the Central Division team.
Prior to this season, Bay also took part in the 2018 NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament last year in Blaine, Minnesota.
He is the first player from the Power this season who has signed an NAHL tender agreement.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 4, 2019.
