St. Louis goalie Regan makes NCAA commitment

August 12, 2019
The St. Louis Jr. Blues, proud members of the NA3HL, are pleased to announce that goaltender Jack Regan has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Trine University. The Thunder, who are based in Angola, Indianan, play in the NCHA.

The 6’0/175 lbs. native of Toledo, Ohio, was a mid-season addition for the Jr. Blues after a stellar midget career with Detroit Belle Tire.

During the 2018-19 regular season, Regan, 19, posted a 5-3-0 record, with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage.

The highlight of his Jr. Blues tenure, though, came in the Central Division Finals against Coulee Region, where he turned aside 47 of 48 Chill shots to send St. Louis to their fourth straight Fraser Cup Finals. Regan also spent several weeks with the Central Illinois Flying Aces of the USHL as an emergency goaltender.

“Jack was a key component in our success this year,” said Jr. Blues head coach Chris Flaugher. “He really gave us a lot of confidence, knowing that we didn’t have to lean on Mikael Foucher (2018-19 NA3HL Goalie of the Year) too much, and his presence improved the quality of both goaltenders. Trine’s a great school and a growing program, and we hope Jack can be a great cornerstone to their future success.”

Regan becomes the seventh member of the 2018-19 Jr. Blues team to make an NCAA hockey commitment this off-season.
