NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

September 18, 2019

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending September 15, 2019. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the eight divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Garrett Alton, F, Milwaukee Power

The Power nabbed their first two wins of the season last week, thanks in large part to the contributions of Alton. Alton was held off the scoresheet in his opening three outings, but exploded for four points in three games last week. The forward potted a hat-trick to pace their 5-3 victory over Rochester, then added another tally as they topped St. Louis two days later.

2nd Star: Trevor Smith, G, St. Louis Jr. Blues

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Dillan Bentley, F, Peoria Mustangs — Mike Ivory, F, St. Louis Jr. Blues — Ian McHenry, F, Peoria Mustangs — Nico Piehl, F, Milwaukee Power

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Hans Watson, D, L/A Nordiques

Despite his station on the Nordiques blue line, Watson was a key cog in their high-flying offense with six points in two games last week. The defenseman kicked off his week with three assists on Saturday before following it up with two goals and another helper on Sunday. Through three games, Watson ranks tied for third among L/A skaters with six points.

Schwartzmiller helped Sheridan get its season off on the right foot with six points in their opening two games. With two goals and two assists on Friday followed by a game-winning strike and another assist on Saturday, Schwartzmiller was key in his team’s winning efforts.

The Kings have struggled out of the gate, but Clarke shone brightly in his appearance last week. The UK native bagged a goal and two helpers to factor into 75% of his team’s goals in a 5-4 loss to the Colonials over the weekend, which pushed him to the front of Skylands’ scoring efforts despite playing in one fewer game than most of his teammates.

2nd Star: Adam Palomeque, F, Danbury Colonials

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Thomas Mougin, F, Skylands Kings — Shane O’Brien, G, Danbury Colonials

South Division Star of the Week: Garrett Wilderman, F, Texas Roadrunners

Texas opened up its campaign with three games against Atlanta last week, going 1-2 in the series, and it was the perfect stage for Wilderman to show his talents. After a 1g, 1a performance in the opener, he rebounded from a goose egg in game two with a stellar effort en route to his team’s first win. Wilderman potted a goal and two assists through 60 minutes, then added a stellar, highlight-reel marker in overtime to give the Roadrunners the victory. His six points are tops among Texas skaters.
