NA3HL announces Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

November 6, 2019

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending November 3, 2019. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the six divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Parker Severson, F, Coulee Region Chill

Severson rolled into last week’s action already hot — the forward had netted points in six straight — but somehow hit another level, logging five points across two impressive wins. Friday’s 7-1 win over Milwaukee featured Severson’s true shining moment(s), as he bagged a goal and three assists for his first four-point outing of the season. He followed that showing up by stretching his streak to an eighth game, posting a helper en route to a win over Peoria. Severson has nabbed 3g-10a—13pts on his eight-game streak, and boasts 7g-12a—19pts in 13 games this season.

2nd Star: Noel Parker, D, Rochester Grizzlies

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Dillan Bentley, F, Peoria Mustangs — Christopher Drews, F, Coulee Region Chill — Cole Walter, G, Peoria Mustangs — Hunter Wilmes, F, Rochester Grizzlies

Coastal Division Star of the Week: Nolan Murphy, F, New England Knights

The Knights hit the ice once last week, where Murphy made his mark on a 6-4 win over Maine. He set up a pair of strikes and ended up lighting the lamp for the game-winner. His +3 mark in a game during which his team gave up four goals also stands out. Murphy now carries a nine-game point streak into this week’s action, a stretch that has seen him log two or more points in all but one contest.

2nd Star: Casey Johnson, G, New England Stars

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Josh Boyd, F, New England Stars — Luke Church, F, Maine Wild — Cam Duprey, D, Maine Wild — Jake Willis, F, New England Knights

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Justin Schwartzmiller, F, Sheridan Hawks

Schwartzmiller and Sheridan faced a stiff test against the Bighorns last week, but triumphed with ease in both matchups as their offense exploded for 19 goals. Schwartzmiller was at the forefront of that attack, logging a whopping seven goals and an assist on the weekend. His Friday performance — five goals and a helper — stands out as the most impressive, but another double on Saturday stretched his goalscoring streak to eight games with six multi-goal games in that span.

2nd Star: Viktor Wennberg, G, Great Falls Americans

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Dylan Ferreira, D, Helena Bighorns — Jack Harris, F, Yellowstone Quake — Luke Hartge, F, Bozeman Icedogs — Peyton Kesselhon, F, Sheridan Hawks — Tyler Prince, F, Missoula Jr. Bruins — Hendrik Robel, F, Great Falls Americans — Dylan Rumpke, F, Yellowstone Quake — Mi-Kwan Tallman, F, Missoula Jr. Bruins — Luke Theisen, D, Helena Bighorns — Christian Veneruzzo, F, Bozeman Icedogs — Declan Young, F, Gillette Wild

Northeast Division Star of the Week: Sean Kenny, F, Skylands Kings

As he and his teammates skated to a three-game sweep of the Long Beach Sharks over the weekend, Kenny turned up his offensive production to take Northeast Division honors this week. The New Jersey native posted 10 points in the trio of wins, posting at least three points in each game for his first outing(s) with more than two points. After a goal and two assists in Friday’s win, Kenny potted his first hat-trick of the season on Saturday and set up another for a four-point outing, before turning playmaker on Sunday with three assists. He currently has 13 total points on his five-game point streak, including four multi-point games.

2nd Star: Kyle McEnany, F, Danbury Colonials

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Kevin Remson, F, Danbury Colonials — Trevor Souza, D, Skylands Kings

South Division Star of the Week: Andrei Rusakov, F, Atlanta Capitals

Rusakov entered the week with points in back-to-back games and wound up stretching his production into his longest point streak of the season at five games after a 10-point weekend. In three wins over Louisiana, Rusakov posted two assists on Friday, a goal and four assists on Saturday and another three helpers on Sunday. The playmaker’s final two games of the weekend marked his first with at least three points since his second outing of the season on Oct. 7. Rusakov has now netted 3g-10a—13pts on his five-game streak, accounting for over half of his 22 points on the season.

2nd Star: Joey Allegrini, D, Atlanta Capitals

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): None

West Division Star of the Week: Jonah Jangula, F, Granite City Lumberjacks

The Lumberjacks steamrolled Wausau over the weekend, notching 20 goals in two wins. Jangula — mired in a four-game pointless streak — broke out in a big way, with back-to-back three point efforts to help Granite City to victory. Posting his first two multi-goal games of the season, Jangula nabbed a hat-trick on Friday, before netting another two goals and an assist on Saturday. His outburst more than doubled his goal total, pushing him to nine on the season, while his six total points propelled him to 11 in 12 games this year.

2nd Star: Brandon Holt, F, Willmar Warhawks

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Daymin Dodge, F, Granite City Lumberjacks — Jordan Roo, F, North Iowa Bulls — Dysen Skinner, G, North Iowa Bulls
