Sunday Wrap-Up: Generals stay in Division hunt with sweep

Grant Griffin had two goals and an assist in a 6-2 win on Sunday to help the Drillers to a three-game weekend sweep of Mid-Cities.

Long Beach 1 @ Northeast 11 - For the second straight day the Northeast Generals offense exploded for double digits as they beat the Long Beach Sharks 11-1. Ryan Helm led the Generals with three points, two goals and one assist. Grigori Zemzer also scored a pair of goals in the win. Tami Merilainen, Nicholas Wracker, Robby Beck, Carson Asper, Joshua Dimond, Jeffrey Sidoit and Kolye Bankauskas scored in the win. Justin Simmons stopped nine shots to grab the win in goal. Matthew Barnes provided the only offense for the Sharks while Richard Prazan made 51 saves.
 
Louisiana 6 @ Mid Cities 2 - Grant Griffin and Alejandro Apud had their way with the Mid Cities Jr. Stars as they each scored two goals and added an assist. Blake Siewertsen added a goal and an assist while Zach Smith netted a goal as well. Daniel Sprague got the win in between the pipes as he made 39 saves and had an assist. Brady Nelson and RJ Muckensturm scored for the Jr. Stars while Kenton Kim made 26 saves.
 
Milwaukee 2 @ Coulee Region 6 - Sam VanderHoeven and Ethan McCormack each potted a pair of goals as the Coulee Region Chill defeated the Milwaukee Power 6-2. Branwen Pollett and Jacob Best each found the back of the net as well for Coulee Region. Michael Janke stopped 29 shots in the win for the Chill. Ryan Hoover and Isaiah Hedberg scored for the Power while Joey Greilich stopped 31 shots.
 
TX RoadRunners 2 @ TX Brahmas 4 - The Texas Brahmas completed the sweep of the Texas RoadRunners as they won on Sunday by a score of 4-2. Danny Barry netted a pair of goals to lead the Brahmas. Richard Indermill and Jack Cooper also scored for Texas. Kayden Hargraves stopped 16 shots for his second win of the weekend. Brenden Fehlig and Garrett Wilderman scored for the RoadRunners while Jaeger Reed stopped 38 shots.
 
L/A 6 @ Danbury 2 - Joe Clark netted a hat trick to lead the L/A Nordiques to a 6-2 win over the Danbury Colonials. Will Fletcher, Trent Seager and Sam Frechette also found the back of the net in the victory. Nick Beck stopped 21 of 23 shots to preserve the win. Kyle McEnany and Brady Hill scored for the Colonials. Michael Nardi took the loss in goal despite making 45 saves.
