Standout performances highlight Day 2 of NA3HL Showcase

Zach Roncarati posted a 48-save shutout in a 1-0 win for the New England Knights on Monday.

The 2019 North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) Showcase continued with Day 2 of the event on Monday, December 16th at the National Sports Center Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota.
 
Over 150+ NAHL and college scouts have checked in through the first two days, which is a new NA3HL Showcase record.

Yellowstone 5 vs. Skylands 2 – The Quake won their second game of the Showcase as goalie Michael Allman made 35 saves in a 5-2 win over Skylands. Dylan Rumpke opened the scoring in the 1st period for the Quake. After Skylands took the lead midway through the 2nd period with goals from Dylan Dinzik and James Clarke, the Quake took the lead back for good with a pair of goals from Jack Harris later in the 2nd period and Brock Risdon and Will Sobaski in the 3rd period. Kings goalie Tyler Robertson made 16 saves in the loss.
 
Coulee Region 2 vs. NE Stars 1 (OT) – Chill goalie Devin Naidow made 25 saves and forward Jacob Best scored midway through overtime to give the Coulee Region Chill their second win of the Showcase with a 2-1 overtime win over the Stars. After a scoreless 1st period, the Chill took a 1-0 lead with a goal early in the 2nd period from Marco Escobar. Just over a minute later, the Stars tied the game at 1-1 with their lone goal from Jon Natale. Stars goalie Nathan Hadley made 24 saves in the loss.
 
North Iowa 4 vs. TX Brahmas 0 – The North Iowa Bulls won their second game of the Showcase thanks to a 26-save shutout from goalie Evan Babekuhl. North Iowa led 1-0 after the 1st period thanks to a goal from Jordan Roo. The lead increased to 3-0 with 2nd period goals from Jac Triemert and Gavin Rasmussen. In the 3rd period, Rasmussen would add his second goal of the game to complete the 4-0 win. Bryce Runyan made 45 saves in the losing effort for the Brahmas.
 
Louisiana 9 vs. Danbury 3 – Veteran forward Blake Siewertsen had four goals and an assist to lead the Drillers to their first win of the Showcase as they beat Danbury, 9-3. Louisiana scored three goals in each period, which included two in the 1st period from Siewertsen and another from Grant Griffin. Brandon Morgan, Shamil Khadizhalov, and Siewertsen scored in the 2nd period and then Siewertsen scored in the 3rd period as did Noah MacDonald and Ivan Matveev. Danbury got goals from Zack Turner, Kyle McEnany, and Brandon Cope. Doug Wakelyn made 26 saves in the win, while Alex Fernandes made 18 saves in the loss.
 
Butte 5 vs. Breezy Point 1 – Danny Fielding made 20 saves and five different players scored for Butte en route to their first win of the Showcase as they beat Breezy Point, 5-1. Blake Nichols scored in the 1st period, Nick Bradshaw and Alexander Chronowski added 2nd period goals, and Robin Bagley and Kyler Garsjo scored in the 3rd period for the Cobras. Jordan Linder had the lone goal for the North Stars. Jake Sumner took the loss in goal, making 25 saves.

TX RoadRunners 4 vs. Helena 2 – Four different players scored for the RoadRunners as they picked up their second straight win at the Showcase, defeating Helena, 4-2. Texas was on the board just :27 seconds into the 1st period as Garrett Wilderman scored. Helena answered with two goals from Darren Donovan and Andrew Deskin later in the 1st period to take a 2-1 lead. The RoadRunners scored the final three goals of the game, including a 2nd period goal from Myles Westbrook, and two 3rd period goals from Blake Elliott and Brenden Fehlig. Blake Forystek picked up the win in goal, while Rylan Labrie took the loss.
 
Mid Cities 4 vs. Wausau 1 – RJ Muckensturm had three points to lead the Stars to their second straight win at the Showcase with a 4-1 triumph over Wausau. Mid Cities jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Hunter Leonhard, Zach Russel, and Payton Carter. The RiverWolves netted their lone goal early in the 3rd period from Blake Neudecker, but a goal later in the period from Muckenstrum secured the win. Nahuel Veyan picked up the win in goal, while Tyler Klatt took the loss.
 
Maine 5 vs. Milwaukee 2 – Maine Wild forward Luke Church scored four of his team’s five goals as Maine picked up a 5-2 win over the Power. After a scoreless 1st period, the Power took a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd period on a goal from Wesley Knutson. Church then scored three straight goals in the 2nd period to put Maine ahead 3-1. The Power cut the lead to 3-2 with a goal in the 3rd period from Brady Rossbach, but another goal from Church and Owen DuBois secured the 5-2 win. Wild goalie Ricardo Alvarez made 17 saves and Oliver Marceau made 22 saves in the win, while Zach Piehl made 27 saves in the loss.
 
Rochester 6 vs. Bozeman 2 – The Grizzlies established their dominance as one of the top team’s in the league as they took care of the Frontier Division leading Bozeman Icedogs with a 6-2 win on Monday. Six different players scored for the Grizzlies, which included four goals in the 2nd period from Paul Hofbauer, Lucas Newman, Devin Hays, and Michael Heitkamp. Joey Fodstad and Matt DeRosa added 3rd period goals. Brock Finn and Andrew Bertolini scored for the Icedogs. Grizzlies goalie Shane Soderwall made 21 saves in the win, while Conan Hayton made 38 saves in the loss.
 
Missoula 8 vs. Long Beach 2 – Henry Morrison had a hat-trick to lead the Jr. Bruins to an 8-2 win over the Sharks. Missoula jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Chase Wilhelm and Chase Cluphf. Morrison then scored a hat-trick in the 2nd period to go along with a goal from Michael Townsley to make it 6-0 after two periods. Trevor Prince and Cayce Balk scored in the 3rd period to make it 8-0. Long Beach got both their goals late in the 3rd period from Steven Ferraro and Alex Lima. Dylan Swanson made 14 saves in the win, while Timothy Brillaud made 27 saves in the loss.
 
NE Knights 1 vs. Willmar 0 – Knights goalie Zach Roncarati stole the show as he stopped all 48 shots that came his way in a 1-0 shutout win over the WarHawks. The game was scoreless through the first two periods until the Knights got the game-winner midway through the 3rd period on a goal from Chase Lapworth. WarHawks goalie Luke Weberg played well in the loss, allowing just one goal on 19 shots.
 
Peoria 5 vs. Gillette 1 - Dillan Bentley scored twice as the Peoria Mustangs defeated the Gillette Wild 5-1. Quinton Murphy notched a goal and an assist while George Giese and Jaycob Bland also found the back of the net. Cole Walter only needed 11 saves to earn his fifth win of the year. Nathaniel Fanning had the only goal for the Wild. Brad Muzzarelli stopped 32 shots.
 
St. Louis 5 vs. Sheridan 2 - Joey Solimando and Sean Hofstetter each registered a goal and an assist as the St. Louis Jr. Blues took care of the Sheridan Hawks 5-2. Jacob Wiethaupt also contributed a goal and an assist while Mike Deeba and Jake Stevenson each lit the lamp as well in the win. Brett Tome made 20 saves to pick up the win in goal. Logan Syrup and Blake Billings potted goals for Sheridan while James Downie made 24 stops. 
 
Northeast 4 vs. Granite City 2 - Kolye Bankauskas added two goals and an assist to give him a league leading 79 points on the season as the Northeast Generals doubled up the Granite City Lumberjacks 4-2. Stephen Gerbis and John Musella both scored in the third period to secure the win for the Generals. Justin Simmons made 36 saves en route to his 10th win of the year. Landon Johnson and Bailey Sommers netted goals for the Lumberjacks and Bailey Huber made 23 saves.
 
New Ulm 7 vs. L/A 1 - A four goal first period paced the New Ulm Steel to 7-1 victory over the L/A Nordiques. Mason Enright logged a hat trick and chipped in two assists to lead all skaters. Nick Wieben potted a pair of goals and had an assist for the Steel while Stanislav Danaev chipped in a goal and two assists. Jacob Halvorson also found the back of the net for New Ulm. AJ Cohen grabbed the win in goal. He made 21 saves for the Steel while Jason St. Pierre stopped 29 shots for the Nordiques.
 
Alexandria 4 vs. Great Falls 3 (OT) - Ike Taraszewski scored at the 3:03 mark of overtime to life the Alexandria Blizzard to a 4-3 win over the Great Falls Americans. Evan Sivets and Cole Jacobs netted goals in the third period to tie the game for the Blizzard. Carter Rieland also scored for Alexandria. Ville Hyttinen stopped 20 shots to secure the win. Levi Mese, Jake Hayes, and Jack Olson all lit the lamp for Great Falls. Trever Mellen was excellent as he made 37 saves for the Americans.
 
Atlanta 7 vs. Elmira 0 - It was all Atlanta in the final game of Day 2, as they routed the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles 7-0. Andrei Rusakov had a hat trick for the Capitals. Cole Thomas Johnson contributed a goal and three assists while David Helpap netted two goals. Matthew Macumber also scored for Atlanta while Gunnar Snyder grabbed a shutout by making 12 saves. Andrew Engel made 25 saves in the loss for Elmira.
