Atlanta defenseman Moore signs NAHL tender
December 31, 2019
The Atlanta Capitals of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that defenseman Gunner Moore has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the Odessa Jackalopes of the NAHL’s South Division.
Moore, 18, is in his third season of playing in the NAHL, which has all been spent with the Capitals. The 6’1/186 lbs. native of Las Vegas, Nevada, is currently tied for 4th in team scoring this season with 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 29 games played.
Moore began his junior career in the NA3HL when he was just 16-years-old. He has appeared in 121 career NA3HL games and recorded 94 career points.
During his rookie season in 2017-18, Moore was selected to and played in the 2018 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Selects White team.
Moore was drafted by the Jackalopes in the 2019 NAHL Draft this past summer and made his NAHL debut back in October with the Jackalopes, appearing in three games and recording an assist.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft, which will be held on June 2, 2020.
