Friday Finals: Generals stay hot with win and punch playoff ticket

Declan Young had a hat-trick and three assists in a win for the Gillette Wild on Friday night.

L/A Nordiques 1 @ Northeast Generals 5 - The Northeast Generals won at home against the L/A Nordiques, 5-1. Kolye Bankauskas of the Generals scored early in the 1st. In the 2nd Deacon More of the Generals scored before the Nordiques could get on the board with a shot from Michael Keller. A goal from Generals forward Nicholas Wracker kept them in the lead. Carson Asper and Bankauskas of the Generals finished the game with two more goals in the 3rd. Goalie Justin Simmons of the Generals made 35 saves of 36 in the win while Jason St. Pierre of the Nordiques made 55 of 60.
 
Butte Cobras 6 @ Gillette Wild 11 - Thanks to hat tricks from Tyler Kaminski and Declan Young the Gillette Wild defeated the Butte Cobras at home, 11-6. The Cobras got on the board early in the 1st with goals from Ty Stovin and Alexander Chronowski followed by five goals from the Wild, two from Keedin Denny, one from Declan Young, one from Caleb Sanborn, and one from Austin Newson. In the 2nd period the Wild kept their lead with two goals from Tyler Kaminski and one from Mason Hoffman before Robby Arver and Easton Hagen of the Cobras could score. Kaminski and Young of the Wild put up two more goals before Kyler Garsjo could score for the Cobras. Nick Bradshaw of the Cobras scored just under two minutes into the 3rd while Young of the Wild scored with just :37 left in the game. Wilds goalies Shane Phillips made 14 saves of 19 while Luc Haggit made 17 of 18 and Cobras goalies Danny Fielding made 18 saves of 21 and Aiden Waal made 53 of 60.
Breezy Point North Stars 4 @ Coulee Region Chill 6 - The Breezy Point North Stars lost against the Coulee Region Chill, 6-4. In the 1st period the North Stars scored early with a goal from Garrett Freeman followed by two goals from the Chill, one from Gadel Khismatullin and one from Ethan McCormack. The Chill kept the lead in the 2nd with another two goals from Dylan Dent and Parker Severson. In the 3rd Severson scored for the Chill just :21 in only to be followed by 3 goals from the North Stars from Zeph Goret, Braeden Zaste, and Mario Maietta. The last goal of the game came from Chill forward Marco Escobar with just under a minute left. Chill goalies Devin Naidow allowed 1 of 10 shots on goal while Leo Lapata allowed 3 of 10 and Jake Sumner of the North Stars allowed 5 of 41.
 
Wausau RiverWolves 3 @ Rochester Grizzlies 5 - The Rochester Grizzlies won at home against the Wausau RiverWolves, 5-3. Alexander Kelsall of the RiverWolves scored in the 1st followed by Porter Haney of the Grizzlies. In the 2nd RiverWolves defenseman Blake Neudecker scored before Zakary Justice and Jesper Hofling of the Grizzlies could score. Paul Hofbauer of the Grizzlies scored in the 3rd before Mitchel Idalski of the RiverWolves could score followed by another from Haney of the Grizzlies.Goalie Sean Guerin of the Grizzlies made 15 saves of 18 in the win while Tyler Klatt made 42 of 47 in the loss.
 
Willmar WarHawks 1 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 4 - The Granite City Lumberjacks won at home against the Willmar WarHawks, 4-1. The Lumberjacks started strong with the only goal in the 1st coming from Kearby Larson. In the 2nd the Lumberjacks kept their lead with two goals from Nathan Green and one from Nikolai Rajala. The WarHawks got on the board in the 3rd with a shot from Marquez Ginger. Lumberjacks goalie Bailey Huber made 28 saves of 29 in the win while WarHawks goalie Lukas Haugen made 34 of 38 in the loss.
 
New Ulm Steel 5 @ North Iowa Bulls 3 - Thanks to a hat trick from Keegan Bauman the New Ulm Steel traveled to defeat the North Iowa Bulls, 5-3. The Steel took the lead in the 1st with goals from Jacob Halvorson and Keegan Bauman. In the 2nd Bauman of the Steel scored his second of the night followed by goals from Dalton Saltness and Callahan Nauss of the Bulls. In the 3rd Carter Wagner of the Bulls scored before Bauman of the Steel could complete a hat trick followed by a goal from Steel forward Michael Savelkoul. Goalie AJ Cohen of the Steel mad 30 saves of 33 while Bulls goalies Evan Babekuhl made 5 of 8 and Joseph Daninger made 10 of 11.
 
Danbury Colonials 3 @ Skylands Kings 6 - Despite a hat trick from Kolby Donovan the Colonials lost on the road against the Skylands Kings, 6-3. Sean Kenny of the Kings scored the only goal in the 1st. In the 2nd Kolby Donovan of the Colonials scored three consecutive goals followed by one from Kenny of the Colonials with just :06 left in the period. The Kings put up four more goals in the 3rd with two from Khole HIbbert and one each from Keeghan McCarthy and Jonathan Meyers. KIngs goalie Tyler Robertson made 52 saves of 55 in the win while Colonials goalie Sam Boos made 24 of 29 in the loss. 
 
Atlanta Capitals 3 @ Texas Brahmas 8 - The Texas Brahmas won at home against the Atlanta Capitals, 8-3. In the 1st period the Brahmas took the lead with goals from Shane DiTullio and Leevi Selanne. Early in the 2nd Richard Indermill of the Brahmas scored followed by two goals from Capitals forwards Andrei Rusakov and Joey Allegrini. Before the end of the 2nd period the Brahmas scored again with goals from Tyler Blanchard and Findlay Wood. Blanchard and Blake Rothstein of the Brahmas managed two points in the 3rd before Rusakov of the Capitals could score, only to be answered by another goal from Indermill of the Brahmas.Goalie Kayden Hargravesr of the Brahmas made 26 saves of 29 while Gunnar Snyder made 27 of 35.
 
Great Falls Americans 4 @ Helena Bighorns 3 (OT) - Jake Hayes of the Great Falls Americans scored in overtime to beat the Helena Bighorns, 4-3. Jake Hayes of the Americans got on the board in the 1st followed by goals from Gavgn Galloway and Darian Wilson of the Bighorns. Blake Nerney of the Americans scored with just under a minute left in the 1st. After an uneventful 2nd Nerney scored again only for Darren Donovan of the Bighorns to tie the game. In overtime Hayes of the Americans scored :13 in to win the game. Goalie Viktor Wennberg of the Americans made 25 saves of 28 while Ethan Racz of the Bighorns made 53 of 57.
 
Missoula Junior Bruins 3 @ Yellowstone Quake 4 (OT) - The Missoula Junior Bruins lost against the Yellowstone Quake, 4-3. Dylan Rumpke of the Quake scored the only goal of the 1st period. In the 2nd Will Sobaski of the Quake scored followed by goals from Mi-Kwan Tallman of the Junior Bruins, Cade Rosansky of the Quake, and Austin Franck of the Junior Bruins. In the 3rd Junior Bruins defenseman Connor Frye scored to force overtime. Jack Harris of the Quake scored the overtime-winner. Logan Cooksy made 36 saves in the win, while Dylan Swanson had 36 saves in the loss.
