Steel goalie Igor Samokhvalov posted his second shutout of the season on Wednesday night, making 23 saves in a 4-0 win.

Helena 6 @ Butte 1 – Ty Niskanen scored twice and Ethan Racz made 49 saves to help the Bighorns pick up a 6-1 road win in Butte on Wednesday. After a scoreless 1st period, Helena opened up a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period, which included goals from Niskanen, Johnny Baird, and Porter Tirrill. Ty Stovin had the lone goal for the Cobras. The Bighorns added three more goals in the 3rd period including another from Niskanen and others from Jiri Benes and Blaine Krona. Butte goalie Danny Fielding made 55 saves in the loss.
 
Willmar 0 @ New Ulm 4 – The Steel got a 23-save shutout from Igor Samokhvalov as they won their 7th straight game on Wednesday night thanks to a 4-0 win over the visiting WarHawks. The Steel opened up a 1-0 lead early in the game with a goal from Joey Gimberlin. Late in the 2nd period, Nick Wieben scored a power play goal to make it 2-0. In the 3rd period Jacob Halvorson and Corey Stormer added goals to make it a 4-0 final. Willmar goalie Lukas Haugen played well in the loss, making 49 saves.
