Blizzard close in on playoff spot with win on Thursday

Alexandria 10 @ Breezy Point 0 – Brandon Connett scored twice and eight other players had goals as the Blizzard moved closer to a playoff spot with a 10-0 shutout win over the North Stars on Thursday. The Blizzard put the game out of reach early with five goals in the 1st period including one from Connett and others from Dallas Duckson, Chayse Haberman, Evan Sivets, and Derek Dropik. Connett then added his second of the game in the 2nd period to go along with a goal from Dylan Carlson, and then Carter Rieland, Jered Sanborn, and Alex Heidenreich all added 3rd period goals to make it a 10-0 final. Blizzard goalie Bailey Rosch stopped all 22 shots that came his way for his first shutout of the season. North Stars goalie Griffin Foster made 58 saves in the loss. With the win, the Blizzard now sit two points ahead of the Willmar WarHawks for the fourth and final playoff spot in the West Division. Boxscore
