Friday Finals: Bankauskas sets NA3HL scoring record with big night

Will Yates scored the overtime-winner on Friday night to advance the Yellowstone Quake onto the Frontier Division Semi-Finals.

Skylands Kings 2 @ Northeast Generals 9 - Thanks to four goals from Kolye Bankauskas the Northeast Generals defeated the Skylands Kings, 9-2. Bankauskas set a NA3HL new single-season for goals in a season with 68. In the 1st Nicholas Wracker of the Generals scored before Dylan Dinzik of the Kings. The Generals managed two goals in the 2nd from Kolye Bankauskas and Jeffrey Sidoit before James Clarke of the Kings. Bankauskas scored for the Generals before the end of the period. In the 3rd the Generals added five to their lead with goals from Grigori Zemzer, Joshua Diamond, Ryan Reifler, and two from Bankauskas. Generals goalie Justin Simmons made 20 saves of 22 in the win while Alex Allison of the KIngs made 46 of 55 in the loss. 
 
Frontier Division Quarter-Finals, Game 2: Gillette Wild 3 @ Yellowstone Quake 4 (OT)  (Yellowstone wins series, 2-0) - Thanks to an overtime goal from Will Yates the Yellowstone Quake won against the Gillette Wild, 4-3 in Game 2 of the Frontier Division Quarter-Finals. The win advances Yellowstone onto the Frontier Division Semi-Finals next weekend. The only goal of the 1st came from Declan Young of the Wild. In the 2nd Dylan Rumpke put the Quake on the board. Caleb Sanbom scored for the Wild in the 3rd only to be followed by a goal from Jack Harris of the Quake. George Stilson of the Wild answered with a goal before Rumpke of the Quake could tie the game. Will Yates of the Quake scored in overtime. Goalie Michael Allman of the Quake made 67 saves of 70 while Luc Haggitt of the Wild made 38 of 42. 
 
Frontier Division Quarter-Finals, Game 1: Helena Bighorns 1 @ Great Falls Americans 7 (Great Falls leads series, 1-0) - The Great Falls Amercians beat the Helena Bighorns, 7-1 in the opening game of the Frontier Division Quarter-Finals. The only goal of the 1st came from Brody Boyce of the Americans. In the 2nd the Americans added five to their lead with goals from Jack Olson, Kellen Harris, Luke Richesin and two from Levi Mese. The Americans managed one goal in the 3rd from Jake Hayes before the Bighorns could get on the board with a shot from Andrew Deskin. Americans goalie Viktor Wennberg made 35 saves of 36 in the win while Bighorns goalie Kevin Tauntman made 39 of 46 in the loss.
 
Louisiana Drillers 5 @ Texas RoadRunners 3 - The Louisiana Drillers won against the Texas RoadRunners, 5-3. The Drillers took the lead in the 1st with three goals from Shamil Khadizhalov, Brandon Morgan, and Ben Cope. In the 2nd the RoadRunners tied it up with a goal from Garrett Wilderman and two from Mason Evans. The Drillers came back in the 3rd with two goals from Blake Siewertsen and Hayden Watzka. Goalie Chris O’Shaughnessy of the Drillers made 49 saves of 52 while Jaeger Reed of the RoadRunners made 39 of 44. 
 
St. Louis Jr. Blues 3 @ Rochester Grizzlies 8 - The Rochester Grizzlies won at home against the St. Louis Jr. Blues, 8-3. In the 1st the Grizzlies put up two goals from Porter Haney and Hunter WIlmes. In the 2nd the Grizzlies managed two goals from Matthew DeRosa and Lucas Newman before Valentin Tarasenko of the Jr. Blues could score. Joey Boccardi scored for the Jr. Blues only to be answered by a goal from Wilmes of the Grizzlies before the end of the 2nd. The Grizzlies added two to their lead in the 3rd from Joey Fodstad and Paul Hofbauer before Van Kraemer of the Jr. Blues could score. Grizzlies goalie Mathias Backstrom made 27 saves of 30 in the win while Jr. Blues goalies William Oliver made 20 of 25 and Brett Tome made 26 of 29 in the loss.
 
Coulee Region Chill 2 @ Alexandria Blizzard 9 - Thanks to a hat trick from Austin McNeil the Alexandria Blizzard defeated the Coulee Region Chill, 9-2. In the 1st Austin McNeil of the Blizzard scored twice only to be answered by a goal from Sam VanderHoeven of the Chill. Caleb Strong of the Blizzard put up two more goals for the Blizzard only to be followed by a goal from Ethan McCormack of the Chill. In the 3rd the Blizzard added five to their lead with goals from Wesley Johnson, McNeil, Derek Dropik and two from Dallas Duckson. Goalie Ville Hyttinen of the Blizzard made 38 saves of 40 while Michael Janke of the Chill made 34 of 43. 

North Iowa Bulls 5 @ Granite City Lumberjacks 4 (OT) - Thanks to an overtime goal from Harrison Stewart that North Iowa Bulls beat the Granite City Lumberjacks, 5-4. Lucas Wahlin put the Bulls on the board only to be answered by goals from Blake Spetz and Bailey Sommers of the Lumberjacks, only to be followed by a goal from Bulls forward Jordan Roo. In the 2nd Sommers scored again for the Lumberjacks before Wahlin of the Bulls. Matt Dahlseide of the Bulls managed a goal in the 3rd before Carson Simon of the Lumberjacks could tie the game. Harrison Stewart scored :44 into overtime to win the game for the Bulls. Goalie Evan Babekuhl of the Bulls made 25 saves out of 26 in the win while Bailey Huber of the Lumberjacks made 21 saves of 26 in the loss.
 
Danbury Colonials 7 @ Long Beach Sharks 2 - The Danbury Colonials won against the Long Beach Sharks, 7-2. In the 1st the Colonials managed two goals from Wesley Westendorf and Kevin Remson before Steven Poripski and Nicholas Garcia could put the Sharks on the board. Misha Mshar of the Colonials scored before the end of the 1st. The Colonials added three to their lead in the 2nd with goals from Brandon Cope, Kyle McEnany, and Ryan Caiola. The only goal of the 3rd came from Cope of the Colonials. Goalie Alex Fernandes of the Colonials made 38 saves of 40 while Richard Prazen of the Sharks made 47 of 54. 
 
New England Stars 5 @ New England Knights 3 - The New England Stars won against the New England Knights, 5-3. The Stars got on the board early with a shot from Derek Lovejoy before the Knights could put up two points from Brendan Thomas-Heayden and Martin Dlugolinsky, only to be answered by a goal from John Rynne of the Stars. In the 2nd period Knights forward Devon Butler scored followed by a goal from Luke Church of the Stars. The Stars took the lead in the 3rd with goals from Michael Lempiainen and Church. Stars goalie Casey Johnson made 29 saves of 32 while Patrick Gribbin of the Knights made 28 of 32. 
 
Wausau RiverWolves 1 @ Willmar WarHawks 6 - The Willmar WarHawks won against the Wausau RiverWolves, 6-1. The WarHawks put up three goals in the 1st from Christopher Drews, Brandon Holt, and Marquez Ginger. In the 2nd the WarHawks had another goal from Drews and two from Dylan Svoboda before forward Tanner Eskro of the RiverWolves could score. WarHawks goalie Lukas Haugen made 31 saves of 32 in the win while Tyler Klatt of the RiverWolves made 36 of 42 in the loss.
 
Mid Cities Jr. Stars 1 @ Texas Brahmas 5 - The Texas Brahmas won at home against the Mid Cities Jr. Stars, 5-1. The Brahmas got on the board in the 2nd with goals from Gabe Potyk and Blake Rothstein. In the 3rd Andrue Trelstad of the Brahmas scored only to be answered by a goal from RJ Muckensturm, which the Brahmas followed with two goals from Parker Mara and Tyler Blanchard. Goalie Kayden Hargraves of the Brahmas made 15 saves out of 16 while Noah Kinsinger of the Jr. Stars made 62 of 67.
