Peoria forward Keil makes college commitment
The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Austin Keil has committed to play ACHA Division 1 hockey for Iowa State University.
Keil, 19, just completed his third season playing for the Mustangs in the NA3HL. The 5’11/180 lbs. native if Bloomington, Illinois, was second in team scoring during the 2019-20 season with 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) in 34 games played.
Keil has appeared in 124 career regular season games during his NA3HL career and recorded 136 career points.
He was selected to and played in the 2019 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team, where he recorded two assists.
Head Coach Steve Ortman said about Keil’s recent signing, “We are very happy for Austin. We saw him develop into a top forward in this league (NA3HL) and there is no doubt that his success on the ice will carry over into his college career. He will be missed tremendously on and off the ice here in Peoria.”
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Keil played youth hockey for the Chicago Blues.
