NA3HL announces Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey

November 17, 2020

The North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Bauer Hockey for the week ending November 15, 2020. The divisional stars of the week are awards given each week of the regular season to the top-performing players in each of the five divisions of the NA3HL as nominated by their head coaches.

Central Division Star of the Week: Max Erstad, F, Milwaukee Power

Erstad found another gear this week, doubling his season point totals with back to back 1g, 1a efforts against Wausau. Entering the weekend set with just one goal in his prior four outings, Erstad took the reins and helped the Power to a weekend split against their division rival with his first consecutive multi-point games of the season, and establishing his first point streak of the year as well. He boasts 5g-3a—8pts in 10 games on the year.

2nd Star: Quinton Murphy, F, Peoria Mustangs

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Max Beste, F, Wausau RiverWolves — Jackson Broussard, G, Milwaukee Power — Cody Reagle, F, Rochester Grizzlies — Cole Walter, G, Peoria Mustangs — Isaac Wickersheim, F, Wausau RiverWolves — Justin Wright, F, Rochester Grizzlies

East Division Star of the Week: Deacon More, D, Northeast Generals

Already an established offensive force from the Generals blue line, More was key to Northeast’s win over Bay State with a goal and two helpers on Tuesday. More’s strike with just under a minute remaining in the second period served as the eventual game-winner, and the Tampa, FL native set up two teammates for insurance markers in the third period. Through nine games, More leads all Northeast skaters with 5g-10—15pts, a mark that also ranks third among all NA3HL defensemen.

2nd Star: Brandon Avezov, F, New Jersey Titans

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Philippe Doucette, F, New Jersey Titans — Aleksandr Gamzatov, F, Long Beach Sharks — Zan Mojzer, F, Long Beach Sharks — Drew Schemmel, F, Northeast Generals

Frontier Division Star of the Week: Justin Schwartzmiller, F, Sheridan Hawks

Schwartzmiller stood out from a pack of impressive Frontier Division performances with his 6g-2a—8pts weekend against Bozeman. After being held off the scoresheet in two games to open the season, the NA3HL veteran has exploded with multiple points — and goals — in all but one game since then. On Saturday, Schwartzmiller paced a rampant Sheridan offense with four goals, including the game-winner. He was at his best again in another romp on Sunday, logging another two goals and two assists with a second game-winner in his haul. Schwartzmiller continues to ride a seven-game point streak which has accounted for all of his production this season — 15g-5a—20pts in nine games.

2nd Star: Jake Hayes, F, Great Falls Americans

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Tristan Baker, F, Gillette Wild — Logan Brown, D, Yellowstone Quake — Jacob Cummings, F, Sheridan Hawks — Bryson Fletcher, F, Great Falls Americans — Ian McIntosh, D, Missoula Jr. Bruins — Owen Miley, D, Missoula Jr. Bruins — Austin Newson, F, Gillette Wild — Hudgel Selk, G, Yellowstone Quake

South Division Star of the Week: Noah Henslee, F, Oklahoma City Blazers

The Blazers headed to College Station this week, where Henslee was clearly in his element during a three-game set against the RoadRunners. The OKC native opened the weekend with a stellar three-goal, two-assist showing with a game-winner on Friday — marking his first multi-goal game and hat-trick of the year — before following up with another goal and a helper in Saturday’s tighter win. On Sunday, he was back to his high-flying ways with his second hat-trick in three games, nabbing another game-winner in this tilt too. Through 13 games, Henslee has logged points in all but two outings, and boasts a balanced 13g-13a—26pts on the year.

2nd Star: Tim Marsico, F, Texas RoadRunners

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Artem Korolev, F, Oklahoma City Blazers — Cailean McDonald, G, Texas RoadRunners

West Division Star of the Week: Louis Anders, F, Willmar Warhawks

Coming into the week on a three-game point streak, Anders upped the ante with a pair of goals and an assist in Willmar’s lone matchup, a 6-5 win over Alexandria on Saturday. Anders netted the first goal of the game in the opening stanza, set up a teammate to score in the second and capped off an impressive night with a go-ahead tally in the third. His three-point performance marked his first multi-point and multi-goal outings of the year, and pushed his season totals to 4g-6a—10pts in 12 games.

2nd Star: Zachary Maillette, F, New Ulm Steel

Honorable Mention (alphabetical): Kyle Heffron, F, North Iowa Bulls — Carson Jones, F, North Iowa Bulls — Cole Wigestrand, F, Willmar Warhawks
