Titans name Caglianone as new Head Coach

The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League, are pleased to announce that Lenny Caglianone has been named the team’s new head coach.

Caglianone had a very distinguished playing career. After playing at the famed Shattuck-St. Mary’s, he went onto play six years of junior hockey in various leagues including the North American Hockey League (NAHL), Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Eastern Junior Hockey League (EJHL) among others. His last year of junior hockey was during the 2013-14 season where here had 17 points (4 goals and 13 assists) in 36 EHL games for the New Jersey Rockets. He also was the team’s captain.

Upon completing his junior career, the Matawan, NJ native went to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice magna cum laude and minor in psychology from Westfield State University, where he played NCAA Division III ice hockey and had 47 total points (12 goals and 35 assists) in 84 games. He was the Owls captain during the 2018-19 season, his senior year.

After finishing his collegiate career, he went onto play professionally in the Southern Pro Hockey League (SPHL) and Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL).

Last season, Caglianone was an assistant coach for the Protec Jr. Ducks of the EHL.

“I am very excited on becoming the Titans new head coach,” said Caglianone. “The Titans had a very good inaugural season, and I’m looking forward to build upon last year’s success on and off the ice. It’s a great opportunity for me, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“We are very excited about Lenny heading our NA3HL team,” said Titans General Manager George Haviland. “He understands the details it takes to be successful at playing at the next level, and we think he will groom our players to be able to play at the next level. He was a strong player and had the fortitude and the “know how” to get to play in the NCAA. He can give a lot back to these players.”

The Titans had a successful inaugural season this past year. The team finished in third during the regular season with a 16-15-1-3 record for 36 points. The Titans then swept the best-of-three first round of the divisional semi-finals and went to the third and deciding game in the divisional finals.
