Bay State forward Skinner signs NAHL tender
The Bay State Bobcats of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Ian Skinner has signed a North American Hockey League (NAHL) tender agreement with the New Mexico Ice Wolves of the NAHL’s South Division.
Skinner, 20, just completed his second season of playing in the NA3HL for the Bobcats organization. The 5’9/170 lbs. native of Madison, NJ, recorded 11 points (2 goals, 9 assists) in 37 games played during the 2020-21 regular season.
During the 2019-20 season, Skinner played in 47 games for the Elmira Jr. Soaring Eagles and posted 13 points as a rookie.
Overall in 84 career NAHL games, Skinner has posted 24 points.
Prior to playing in the NA3HL for the Bobcats, Skinner played youth hockey for Madison High School and the New Jersey Colonials.
He is the first player from the Bobcats to sign an NAHL tender this season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which includes one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
