Northeast defenseman More makes NCAA commitment
The Northeast Generals of the NA3HL are excited to announce that defesnseman Deacon More has committed to play his NCAA Division III Hockey at Chatham University.
More, 20, came to the Generals three seasons ago and made an immediate impact both on the organization but also the league.
The 5’10/185 lbs. native of Tampa, Florida, played in 129 career NA3HL games, accumulating 40 goals, 78 assists and 118 points.
The improvement in More’s game became evident this year as he led the entire NA3HL in scoring for defensemen with 21 goals and 51 points in just 41 games while leading the Generals to their first ever Fraser Cup appearance.
More was selected to and played in the 2020 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Coastal Division team, where he had one point in three games.
Deacon was named both the East Division’s MVP and Defenseman of the Year (along with being All East First Team). He was also named to the All-NA3HL 2nd Team.
“Deacon’s commitment is a testament to his improvement as a person and a player. Deacon still has a lot of work to do and room for improvement but he has gotten better each year he has played for us. I know Coach Gershon at Chatham very well and know that Deacon is in good hands. Coach will get the most out of him as did Darryl here. We are proud of Deacon and look forward to watching him next year,” said Bryan Erikson, President of Hockey Operations.
