Alexandria forward Kenny signs NAHL tender
The Alexandria Blizzard of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that forward Sean Kenny has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL’s East Division.
Kenny, 18, just completed his second season playing in the NA3HL and first with the Blizzard. The 5’9/160 lbs. native of Sparta, NJ, appeared in 39 regular season games with the Blizzard during the 2020-21 season and recorded 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists). He also played in three playoff games, scoring two points.
“Sean had a great showing when he came up to experience our program. We know he comes from a hockey family, and want him to be a part of ours,” said Nordiques head coach Nolan Howe.
Kenny spent the 2019-20 season playing in the NA3HL for the Skylands Kings. In 46 regular season games, he recorded 51 points. Overall, in two NA3HL seasons, he has appeared in 85 games and recorded 79 points.
He is the second Blizzard player this season to sign an NAHL tender for the 2021-22 season.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which includes one tender exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
