Generals, Ice Wolves win on Wednesday
New Mexico goalie Pierson Haislet had allowed just three goals in his last four starts.
Bay State 1 @ Northeast 8 – Nolan Zotter and Micaiah Bascombe each scored twice as the Generals crept closer to clinching the East Division thanks to a 8-1 win over the visiting Bob cats on Wednesday. The Generals jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the 1st period with two goals from Bacombe and others from Zotter and Michael Locke. In the 2nd period, the Generals made it 7-0 with another goal from Zotter and others from Braeden Kennedy and Phil Feinberg. In the 3rd period, the Bobcats got on the board with their lone goal from Brian Woak. Matthew Nuzzolilo would score later in the period to complete the scoring. Luke Fundator made 21 saves in the win, while AJ Cooper and Jacob King made 40 saves apiece in the loss.
Louisiana 1 @ New Mexico 3 – Ice Wolves goalie Pierson Haislet made 27 saves to lead his team to their 7th straight win as the beat the Drillers on Wednesday, 3-1. After a scoreless 1st period, the Driller got on the board first in the 2nd period with a power play goal from Al Evanyk. The Ice Wolves responded later in the period with a shorthanded goal from Hunter Fischbach. In the 3rd period, goals from Jo Kawagishi and Jaden Stiller secured the 3-1 win. Drillers goalie John Moriarty made 20 saves in the loss.
