Milwaukee goalie Prokop signs NAHL tender
The Milwaukee Power of the NA3HL are pleased to announce that goaltender Adam Prokop has signed an NAHL tender agreement with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL’s Central Division.
Prokop, 19, just completed his first season of junior hockey in the NA3HL, starting 29 games for the Power and finished the regular season with a 24-4-1-2 record. In those games, the Wausau, Wisconsin native displayed a 2.33 GAA (tied for 8th in the league), .933 Save % (tied for 5th), and 3 shutout statline.
The 6’2/185 lbs. netminder also appeared in two Fraser Cup Playoff games where he posted a 2.02 GAA and .936 Save %. Prokop was also recently selected to and played in the 2023 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament for the Central Division team and made appearances in both games.
Prokop has tended the crease in five NAHL games and made his NAHL debut with the Austin Bruins on February 18th. He picked up his 1st victory against the Bismarck Bobcats on March 18th in a 5-2 win where he stopped 21 of 23 shots faced.
Prior to playing in the NA3HL, Prokop played four seasons with Wausau West High School in Wisconsin as well as four seasons with the Team Wisconsin program.
A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NA3HL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on November 1st. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2023 NAHL Draft.
