Alexandria and Danbury bring home wins on Wednesday

Minnesota 3 @ Alexandria 6 – Alexandria Blizzard forward Wyatt Johnson had a hat-trick to lead his team to a 6-3 home win over the Loons on Wednesday. The game was tied at 3-3 early in the 2nd period as Johnson had scored twice and Matt McIntyre also scored for the Blizzard, while Jacob Behnke, Donovan Knuckles, and Josiah Lambers scored for the Loons. The Blizzard pulled away later in the game with goals from Joe Gronholz, Sean Kenny, and the third from Johnson. Alex Lamont made 27 saves in the win, while Matthew Ryynanen made 47 saves in the loss.
Danbury 2 @ Norwich 1 (OT) – Danbury closed the gap on 2nd place in the East with a 2-1 overtime win over Norwich on Wednesday. Ryan Maguire made 37 saves in the win. Norwich scored first thanks to a 1st period shorthanded goal from Chris Hamilton. Danbury tied the game with a goal in the 2nd period from Oleg Egorov. With under a minute remaining in overtime, Brody Trew netted the overtime winner. Sea Captains goalie Andrew Yocum made 24 saves in the loss.
