Mustangs forward Turner makes college plans

The Peoria Mustangs of the NA3HL have announced that forward Sam Turner has committed to play college hockey for Midland University.
The team will play as an ACHA Division I team in the 2014-15 season. Midland is located in Fremont, Nebraska and is coached by two former NA3HL coaches. Jason Cirone is the Warriors Head Coach (previously with Metro Jets) and Phil Axtell is the Assistant Coach (previously with the Madison Whalers).
Turner, 20, just completed his third and final season playing junior hockey in the NA3HL. This past season was Turner’s best as the native of Ballwin, Missouri finished 2nd in team scoring with 64 points in 48 games played. His 34 goals tied for the team lead.
Turner played both the 2012-13 and 2011-12 seasons for the St. Louis Jr. Blues in the NA3HL. In 117 career NA3HL games, Turner has recorded 102 career points. He also had four points in five playoff games.
